Who can join the Atlas Global South AI Policy Coalition?

Researchers, academics, students, government officials, civil society advocates, private-sector professionals, international organizations, and think tanks working on AI governance in the Global South — including Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, South and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific.

Is coalition membership limited to people based in the Global South?

No. Membership is open to anyone whose work advances responsible AI governance in the Global South, whether they are based in the region or collaborate with partners there.

Is there a fee to join?

The application itself is free. Applicants complete the membership form on this page, and the coalition reviews each submission on a rolling basis.

How long does the application review take?

Most applicants receive a decision by email within two weeks of submitting the membership form.

What do coalition members get access to?

Members can take part in research collaboration, policy dialogue, and community convenings, and can access original research and policy briefs on Global South AI governance. Full details are in the Community Charter.
