NagorikBD

AI-Powered Civic Platform for Bangladesh

Active Development (Beta)

NagorikBD is the flagship civic technology initiative of Atlas AI Institute—a digital public infrastructure platform designed to improve public access to trusted information, climate intelligence, local government resources, and AI-powered citizen services across Bangladesh. Built on the principles of responsible AI and open data, NagorikBD makes information easier to discover, understand, and use, complementing existing public services rather than replacing them. It is an independent, research-driven civic platform—not an official government service—created to demonstrate how citizen-centered innovation and evidence-informed digital governance can strengthen the relationship between people and public information. FactCheckBD

Bangladesh’s First AI Fact‑Checker

Atlas AI Institute Initiative

FactCheckBD is an independent, public-interest fact-checking and applied AI research platform developed by Atlas AI Institute to strengthen information integrity in Bangladesh. As the country’s first AI-assisted fact-checker, the platform combines AI-assisted claim detection, multilingual evidence retrieval, and structured datasets with rigorous human editorial verification to investigate public claims circulating in Bangla and English. Every verdict published on FactCheckBD moves through a transparent Human + AI verification workflow—no claim is confirmed, disputed, or corrected without review and approval by a trained human editor, ensuring transparency, accountability, and methodological rigor at every stage. By pairing machine-scale claim monitoring with editorial judgment, FactCheckBD supports journalists, researchers, students, and the public with evidence-based, source-linked verdicts rather than automated assumptions. The platform also operates as open, research-driven infrastructure for media literacy and misinformation analysis. FactCheckBD is not affiliated with any political party or government institution—it is an independent initiative built on responsible AI and open, accountable public discourse.

What is FactCheckBD?

An independent public-interest fact-checking and applied AI research platform from Atlas AI Institute, built to strengthen information integrity in Bangladesh.

How does the verification process work?

Claims move through six stages—AI-assisted detection, evidence collection, source evaluation, human editorial review, verdict assignment, and publication with an open correction log.

Why is human editorial review important?

AI accelerates claim monitoring, but every verdict requires a trained editor’s approval before publication, keeping the process transparent and accountable.

How does AI support fact-checking?

AI assists with claim detection, multilingual evidence retrieval, and source aggregation at a scale editorial teams alone cannot match—without replacing human judgment.

Who can use the platform?

Journalists, researchers, students, and the public can use FactCheckBD’s published fact checks, research datasets, and public claim submission tools.
