Atlas Research Network is an open scholarly research network connecting researchers, institutions, publications, datasets, projects and research communities across the Global South and beyond.

It gives researchers a shared place to discover knowledge, build a professional research profile, publish work, find collaborators and connect their research to a wider global community.

The Network goes beyond a conventional repository, bringing research discovery, scholarly identity, collaboration, publication and research infrastructure together in one connected ecosystem.

Community participation and Atlas editorial endorsement are separate processes.

That means clear publication status, transparent attribution, appropriate verification, research integrity mechanisms and preservation of research history. Atlas Research Network distinguishes between access to research and endorsement of research.

For eligible Atlas Publications, the platform can support integration with established scholarly infrastructure such as Zenodo and DOI registration.

Atlas will not fabricate DOI numbers, indexing claims or citation metrics.

Is Atlas Research Network only for AI research?

No. While AI governance and technology policy are important areas within the ecosystem, the Network is designed for broader interdisciplinary research.

Does uploading research mean Atlas endorses it?

No. Community Research is not automatically Atlas-reviewed or Atlas-endorsed.

Who can join?

Researchers, academics, students, independent researchers, institutions and other legitimate participants in the research ecosystem may use the Network, subject to its policies and requirements.

Can institutions create profiles?

Yes. Institutional profiles are part of the Network architecture.

Will research receive a DOI?

Eligible Atlas Publications may receive DOI-backed publication through appropriate external scholarly infrastructure. A DOI is not automatically assigned to every submission.

Is Atlas Research Network a journal?

No. It is a research network and scholarly infrastructure. Atlas Publications constitute a separate editorial and publication layer within the broader ecosystem.

Is Atlas Research Network the same as Atlas AI Institute?

No. Atlas AI Institute is the parent institution. Atlas Research Network is its open research network and scholarly infrastructure platform.
